October 01, 2019 - Squadron Poker Run
It was a bit windy, but everyone enjoyed a sunny boating day on the lake and got a lot of docking practice picking up cards to make their best poker hand. The event culminated at Doc's restaurant at Shangra-La on Monkey Island. The lucky winning hand was 4 Kings this year with an Ace. A good time was had by all and we enjoyed a wonderful day together it was a nice fundraising event for the squadron.

September 08, 2019 - Squadron Boat Rally
It was a beautiful day for on Grand Lake for America's Boating Club-GL Squadron members to pilot their boats and search and locate unique landmarks around the lake. The event wrapped up at The Parrot restaurant and celebrated the winning boat and its skipper for having discovered the most correct landmarks in the contest. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed a wonderful day on the Lake.

March 07, 2019 - Annual Grove Boat Show
Grand Lake Power Squadron members turned out in force to man the Booth at the Annual Grove Boat Show. This year we gave out and fitted Life Jackets to over 100 needy children under 90lbs, in concert with a sponsorship from GRDA. In addition, we promoted boating education - filling up two ABC classes, and safety - booking a dozen Vessel Safety Checks. A new boating simulator was featured in our booth that was very attractive and well received.

December 09, 2018 - Grove Christmas Parade
Once again our Squadron joined in the fun in decorating and entering a float in the Grove Christmas Parade. Special thanks to Indian Hills Marina for providing and driving the float upon which decorations were constructed. October 2018 - Squadron Poker Run Event
31 of our GLPS Members braved the winds and waves for the on the water Poker Run. This funding event had our boaters visiting 7 dock locations around Grand Lake to receive a playing card to compete for the high hand and cash prizes. Mary Alice Moore won the event with 4-10's, as the group of boaters finished at Shangra-La resort for a nice lunch.

2018 Ice Cream Social at The Reynolds
Once again the Reynolds hosted our annual Ice Cream social, over 40 folks braved the 95 degree heat wave, but cooled their palates on the wonderful Ice Cream and Desserts. Our thanks go out to Cindy and Jim Reynolds for hosting and roasting hot dogs over the grill in the heat of the day!

The Power Squadron providing Life Jackets to Kids at this years Camp Bandage Event in June 2018
Members of the Power Squadron gave their time and support at the Grand Land Boat and Sport Show in Grove during March, to promote our squadron, boating safety classes, Vessel Safety Checks, and thanks to a grant from the GRDA, fitted 102 kids with free life jackets!
Our Squadron joined in the Holiday Spirit having fun preparing for the annual 2017 Grove Christmas Parade. The morning began by Decorating the float at the Millers with breakfast goodies brought and shared by everyone.

GLSPS Members had a great time participating in a Boat Rally (Scavenger Hunt) contest October 5th on the Lake, starting at Indian Hills Marina, searching for points of interest around the Lake.*

GLSPS Members found a fun way to beat the heat in August 2017 as seven boats joined the party at Kamrath's Dock in Courthouse Hollow on an ideal summer day in Grand Lake.*
